Minibus to Beeston Castle car park and a walk along quiet lanes and woodland paths with fine views of Beeston and Peckforton Castles with changing views of the" Castle of the Rock".  One of the ascents included the "witches staircase".  After a leisurely lunch and walk, across more countryside to arrive at the Main Shropshire Union Canal, before heading back to Beeston Castle once again.

The walk took us across fields towards Wicksted Old Hall, past the Big Mere to Marbury and a return walk via the Mere with no name.

Our route crossed Bubney Moor and headed for Wolvesacre Hall, Iscoyd Park and Whitewell.  Our return journey led us via Painters Green, Redbrook, Hadley and Belton. Marches Meander

Minibus to The Swan at Marbury where we headed across the fields to get some spectacular views of the Cheshire countryside.  After that, into Larder woods where we saw some bluebells and a profusion of Wild Garlic. After the woods we headed up Black Park road to Ossmere with views of the Mere and then back to Marbury. Easy undulating countryside with some stiles.

The walk followed the Belton Bracer route as far as Belton Farm, then headed out to Blackoe Cottages.  After this, the walk came back along the canal and through Greenfields LNR and the country park.  Canal Scene

A leisurely walk with locks and golf links that stopped at the Lockside Café for ice creams.  After refreshments, the walk took us past locks and traditional cottages to Jackson's Bridge.  We then crossed over fields to Fairy Glen and Hinton Bank Farm before heading back into town.

The circular walk included Whitchurch Waterway Country Park, the Llangollen Canal, Danson's Wood and Greenfields Local Nature Reserve where we were looking for spring flowers and other wildlife.
