Meet at Sherry Mill car park, Whitchurch 9.15am to car share

[Note the above is earlier than previously advertised]

or Oswestry Central car park at 10am [as advertised] map

Notes from the walk leader:

Meet main car park in Oswestry at 10am - parking is free on a Sunday.
I do not think there are any public toilets open so you may have to wait until we are up in Candy Woods.
We walk out of town past Oswald's Well, up to the waterworks.
Carrying on past the waterworks, still on the road, we come to a t junction where any late arrivals could meet us as there is a lay-by on the left hand side after the left turn.
We go through a kissing gate and cross a stream via a footbridge (no handrails).
Walking across the field into Llanforda House where hopefully there will still be some snowdrops to see.  This is a good place to stop for a drink.
Past the walled garden, carry on through fields and up into Candy wood.
Here, we will meet Offas Dyke and the Shropshire Way which we follow for a couple of miles, climbing steadily, but it is not steep.
Once we get to the racecourse this is a good place to stop at the grandstand for lunch as there are benches here, but no shelter.
Carrying on across the racecourse we follow the footpaths to Bronygarth, across the estate, past the old house, now being refurbished, and across the road.
We then follow the footpath for  mile or so, then turn right and head back into Oswestry.
This walk is nearer 9 miles than 8, but we should be back by 3.30.
Please note there are no facilities on this route until we get back into Oswestry.
This is a lovely walk and if the weather is kind we will have fantastic views.
